CHALLENGE

CHALLENGE

Create assets for Endless Dungeon’s social media channels to engage and resonate with the target player audience while reflecting the brand's messaging and maintaining coherence with the art direction.

Assets were to reflect the theme and personality of Endless Dungeon and be tailored to suit each social media platform's specifications and best practices for maximum impact, all the while ensuring balanced and well-laid-out compositions of the various sized assets.

Adaptability to accommodate the demanding posting frequency was critical, therefore organisation and flexibility were to be prioritised.

Collaboration with other teams would be necessary to ensure alignment with the overall marketing strategy.

Evergreen series were created that could be posted any time, independent of topical announcements, allowing for greater flexibility in planning ahead.

Both static and video series were crafted to maximise available assets and underscore the character-driven theme of the game.

Templates facilitated the preparation of multiple iterations, enabling bulk content creation in a time-efficient manner to meet the demanding posting schedule. Additionally, templates ensured consistency with the brand's art direction, maintaining visual coherence across various posts.

Endless Dungeon is a space-western themed video game about a cast of colourful characters that are marooned on an abandoned space station and searching for an escape.

The game is character focused and features a range of heroes, monsters, and other characters that have unique and distinctive art styles. Against the backdrop of the space station's varied districts and rooms, each boasting unique art styles, the game adopts a comic-inspired aesthetic with nods to art-deco and minimalist elements.

All marketing assets were required to follow the brand identity, adhering to the selected colours, fonts, and other graphic elements.

Endless Dungeon’s gameplay features dynamic and exciting visuals with colourful flashes of VFX. Therefore, evergreen video series were created to leverage these assets along with clips from the high-quality CGI trailers.

Thumbnails for these videos were crafted to maintain visual coherence across the account’s feed, and were specifically designed to be viewed both in full size and from a cropped square format, ensuring compatibility with Instagram's layout. Due to the limited number of full in-game illustrations, video thumbnails utilised gameplay screenshots.

To ensure a regular posting schedule was maintained, static evergreen series were also created to alleviate the time burden of video creation. To compensate for the limited availability of full illustrations for these series, behind-the-scenes sketches and visual representations of gameplay statistics were used as the focal point.

Templates were crafted to enable other team members, including junior staff, to produce the reiterations of the designs, ensuring visual consistency while dividing the workload effectively.

Additionally, preparation and planning with these evergreen templates allowed the team to maintain a regular posting schedule while freeing up time to react and create assets for topical announcements as they arose.
